What this treatment does
The same injectable used for lines is placed into the skin of the affected area, where it blocks the signal to the sweat glands.

- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have had a reaction to botulinum toxin before
- You have a neuromuscular condition such as myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome
What to expect
- 01Before you arrive
- If you take blood thinners, including aspirin or ibuprofen, ask your own doctor whether you can pause them.
- 02The consultation
- He goes through your history and maps the area that sweats.
- 03The plan
- He tells you what reduction to expect and how long it should hold.
- 04The injections
- A grid of small injections across the area. 15 to 30 minutes.
- 05Straight after
- Small red bumps at each point. They settle within hours.
- 06Going home
- Back to normal in about 30 minutes.
- Do not touch or massage the treated area.
- Keep the area clean and dry for 24 hours.
- No make-up or antiperspirant over the area for 24 hours.
- No sauna, hot bath or jacuzzi for 24 hours.
- No exercise or anything that makes you sweat for 24 hours.
- Stay out of direct sun for 24 hours, then use SPF 50.
