Why it happens
Skin stretched over time loses some of its ability to spring back, and the longer it was stretched the less it recovers.
Fat lost quickly leaves the skin behind. Fat lost slowly gives it more chance to keep up.
Age matters, because older skin has less collagen and elastin to work with.
