Why it happens
The fat layer on the back of the hand thins with age, so veins and tendons that were always there become visible.
Skin on the hand is thin to begin with and gets thinner, so it creases and shows what is beneath it.
Hands take more sun than any part of the body except the face, and rarely any protection.

Common questions about ageing hands
Can the veins be hidden?
They can be made less prominent by restoring the volume that used to cover them. Removing the veins themselves is a different specialty.
What about sun spots?
That is pigment rather than volume, and it is a laser question rather than an injectable one. He will tell you which of the two is your main issue.
Is it painful?
The back of the hand is more sensitive than the face. Numbing is used, and the treatment itself is short.
