Why it happens
Lips lose volume with age as the tissue thins and the border between lip and skin softens.
Repeated pursing folds the skin above the top lip into fine vertical lines.
Sun damage and smoking both accelerate it.

Common questions about thin or lined lips
Will people be able to tell?
They should not, if the amount is right. What people notice is a lip that reads as filler, which is a question of quantity rather than of having had it done at all.
How swollen will I be?
Lips swell more than anywhere else on the face. Book at least two weeks before anything you care about, and do not judge the result on the day.
What if I do not want them bigger?
Then you want the other treatment. Hydration and micro-needling improve texture and fine lines without adding volume.
